Reading Time: 2 minutes

It was only a few months ago when friends, family and many fellow church members rallied together to change the lives of children all over the world.  My wife and I joined the challenged and completed two shoe boxes representing our nephew and niece – one for a boy and one for a girl.    Today, I received a letter from Samaritan’s Purse Canada talking about the success of the initiative!

It was a SUCCESS…

If you participated, you helped collect over 660,000 shoe boxes!  What an accomplishment!  This also brought the ministry past a historical moment of handing out over 100 million shoe boxes since starting the ministry almost 20 years ago.   That means millions of lives have been impacted by the simple act of providing children with a shoe box full of toys, school supplies, hygiene items and most importantly, the gospel message!

The CHALLENGE…

This year, Operation Christmas Child celebrates their 20th anniversary.  The challenge is simple: will you partner again this year to impact children all over the world?  Wouldn’t it be awesome to see over 700,000 shoes boxes collected in 2013?  Just think about it, if an assembly who collected 100 boxes in 2012, collected 7 more in 2013, Canada would reach that goal!

This past year, we set the goal in our assembly to fill one more box than last year.  In other words, if you filled 1 box last year, fill 2 this year… 2 last year; 3 this year… you get the picture.  As a result, we collected 26 more boxes and touched 26 more lives!

Will you join the challenge? Start thinking of ways you can maximize the impact of Operation Christmas Child in 2013!!
